Power Up

There’s power in the wind! Explore wind energy by crafting and testing kites, investigating renewable energy through an exciting game of bingo, racing to match energy terms, and creating your own energy books. It’s a week of hands-on science and energizing fun! Power Up is a robust school-age unit steeped in activities that enable students to challenge themselves, experiment, and transform information into meaningful content and skills. While the lesson plan incorporates many different Pennsylvania Learning Standards, it focuses on the key learning areas of “Scientific Thinking and Technology” and “Approaches to Learning Through Play.” Specifically, students will learn to engage in learning activities that meet the PA Standard Areas of Earth Sciences, Environment and Ecology, and Constructing, Organizing, and Applying Knowledge.
