Investigate the effects of the sun with color-changing beads and sunscreen experiments, then cool off with water challenges! We’ll build bucket towers and craft water cup pyramids. It’s a week filled with science, teamwork, and sun-soaked fun. Sizzling Summer is a school-age unit steeped in activities that enable students to challenge themselves, experiment, and transform information into meaningful content and skills. While the lesson plan incorporates many different Pennsylvania Learning Standards, it focuses on the key learning areas of “Scientific Thinking and Technology”, “Social and Emotional Development”, and “Approaches to Learning Through Play.” Specifically, students will engage in learning activities that meet the PA Standard Areas of Earth and Space Sciences, Maintaining Relationships, and Learning through Experience.
